Memory Lane

Ginger and I recently took a little trip down Memory Lane. In the year 2000, Ginger's second grade class buried a time capsule, filled with stories and predictions of the future, ten years down the road and various items chosen by the students. Being that Ginger's class is now the graduating class of 2010, she found out the details of the "dig" and we made our way.

The first stop was dinner with my college bible study leader and dear friend, Courtney, her husband Steven and their two sweet boys.Here is Ginger with a few from her second grade class, reading their stories to the class of 2020. Here Ginger is standing in front of the Bush's house in our favorite neighborhood in Weaverville. So many memories here.And me in front of our third house in Weaverville. We lived here from my ninth to my twelfth grade years.This was our first house in Weaverville (well, this is the back). This house had an incredible back yard, with a huge hill, a pond, a zip line, a "soccer field", a rope swing over a creek, etc. Oh, and a jungle-not sure that was there before. You get the picture-a little kid's dream yard.Ginger at "If It's Special", a little gift shop on Main Street. I just remember going in there with mom and wanting candy : ). There was an entire room with all kinds of candy and ever flavor of Jelly Belly Beans.We had lunch at a great pizza place and saw Wahoo, which was a personal highlight. If you look closely, you'll see a man crossing the street. That's Wahoo. He is a native of Weaverville and could be spotted in so many places, especially High School football games.

We wrapped up our trip with miniature cupcakes and truffles at Well Bread Bakery, a drive through our second neighborhood and a stop at Nana and Papa's. So glad for this time to spend with Ginger. Just packing up the rest of my room now and headed out soon.
