Capitol Hill Learning Group

Today I was a substitute teacher at Capitol Hill Learning Group and tomorrow I am babysitting for the lady whose place I filled.

Who knows what Saturday will bring, haha.

Home

I just wanted to take a minute to say that I miss "home". To say I like it here would be the understatement of the year, but to say it feels like "home" wouldn't be accurate either. If God provides all that I need to be here, it could become "home", but right now it's not familiar, I'm not known, though I've met a ton of really great people. I miss the familiar and am strangely aware of that tonight. I'm trusting God though, in this unplanned place and truly grateful.

Day 5: Stuck in DC

So, I can't seem to leave and I love it.

A) I keep finding new places to stay and house hop if you will
B) I'm hearing of multiple opportunities to babysit
C) I just love it here
D) I just love it here
E) Have I mentioned I love it here?
D) Oh, and the Capitol is quite beautiful in the moonlight

Tulips and Day 3 in D.C.

It was another encouraging day in D.C. I had an interview for a job with IX Marks Ministries, tagged along for Suzanne's (new sweet friend) photography project and enjoyed chicken fajitas with Jared and Julie James.

In D.C. and loving it

I have been here since about 1:30 on Saturday. I love it. Spring is breathtaking here. Everyone I have met (mostly through a local church) has been wonderful-so welcoming and helpful. I even found my way to Maxine's prayer list (a long time and faithful member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church). I am here for a few more days, exploring job opportunities and enjoying the city. Grateful.

My blogging fingers are a bit rusty, so apologies for the microscopic images. I just wanted to note these books as gracious gifts from the Father and great reads!

ISO: A Job

I want to be able to look back and see that God was guiding me, hemming me in by the guardrail of His providence, if you will. So here is a look back at the job search, which began sometime in Mid. February.

Modern Salon: Guest Relations
Davidson College: International Student Advisor
Auburn: International Student Office Secretary
California Baptist University: Assistant to International Student Director
George Washington University: International Student Advisor
Starbucks
One Ocean Resort and Spa (Jacksonville): Guest Relations; One-Touch Agent
Shands Hospital: 3 Admin. jobs : )
International Justice Mission (DC)
Access Partners (DC): Admin
Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (DC): Administrative Receptionist

On Thursday I had a phone interview with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and will know more on Monday as to whether they would like to move forward. So, just waiting and relying on God to provide all that I need to be what He wants me to be where He wants me to be. Amen.
